LabBase is a start-up company that provides multiple services in the " LabTech " research area.
"The Power of Research to the Power of Mankind" is LabBase's purpose. We are trying to create a society where researchers can play a more active role by solving the problems that still exist in the research departments of universities, countries, and companies.

【Job Responsibilities】
You will drive all developments in complex issues in the research area with LabBase's services provided!
Our Engineers are not limited to a specific technology, but are expected to use the most appropriate technology to tackle the problem.
- Data scraping and related performance and accuracy improvements.
- Data pipeline maintenance.
- Development using Rust

【Development Information】
Server-side:
- Language: Rust
- Framework: Axum
- DB : MySQL/Amazon DynamoDB
*Rust experience is not required.

Front-end:
- Language: TypeScript
- Frameworks: React, Svelte
- Web Assembly Rust
- Design: Figma

Infrastructure:
- Cloud: AWS, Cloudflare
- Containers: k8s / Docker
- Monitoring : Datadog, Grafana 

Environment:
- Repository management: GitHub
- Documentation: Confluence, Google Docs
- Communication: Slack
- Task management: Jira
- Development method: Scrum

■Office Language
Japanese: All materials, meetings, etc. will be in Japanese, so business level (N2 or above) speaking and writing skills are required.

【What we are aiming for】
We have released several products in the research field one after another, including "LabBase Shukatsu(LabBase 就職)," a service for newly graduated science students as our main product, "LabBase Tenshoku(LabBase 転職)," a mid-career recruitment service, and "LabBase Kenkyushitsu Search(LabBase 研究室サーチ)," a laboratory search service that connects researcher with laboratories. 

Also, we have completed a Series B round of funding in 2022 and used by METI, so this is a really interesting stage in terms of the management base and the future potential of our service.

Furthermore, the challenges surrounding researchers are not limited to Japan. In the future, we plan to expand our services overseas, starting with countries in close proximity to Japan!

With our highly motivated colleagues, LabBase will continue to challenge the very highest goals that no one has ever achieved. Let's move forward together toward this huge challenge!!

Required Skills and Experiences

【Qualification】 - Experience designing code that is security-conscious and consistent with the overall architecture of the service - Experience in leading a team of engineers and communicating with stakeholders - Able to communicate in Japanese, with N2 as a general guideline. 【 Welcome skills】 - Familiarity with one of the following languages　- Rust, C/C++, TypeScript - Experience in building platforms consisting of multiple services - Experience in OSS developmentDeep understanding of the challenges in research related areas 【Ideal candidate profile】 - Empathize with our purpose - A person who want to create new value in the world and build a better society through our products - A person who can take initiative to ensure the success of the team - A person who are enthusiastic about challenging the unknown - A person who can develop products with an awareness of cost 専門スキル・プログラ
