■Recruitment Background
We are a Chuo University startup that develops soft robots that move like living organisms. Aggregate amount raised: 620 million. We are looking for a person who can work on mechanical design for commercialization of the robot.

< Who We Are Looking For >
At Solaris, we conduct all development processes in-house, from designing and controlling robots to quality evaluation, testing, and production management, tailored to customer requirements (except for the manufacturing of parts, which is outsourced). As we move toward product commercialization, we are also considering hiring for two additional positions: "Electrical Circuit Design" and "Quality Evaluation." < Challenges Solaris is Addressing >
Our daily environment contains numerous narrow, winding pipes. Even with state-of-the-art drones or industrial endoscopes, it is difficult to navigate inside these complex pipelines. As a result, many issues arise due to the inability to inspect or clean the pipes.
Currently, semiconductor and metal parts manufacturers spend a significant amount of time cleaning the inside of pipes to prevent blockages, leading to downtime and lost opportunities. With the commercialization of Solaris' products, we aim to solve these issues.


■Job Description
You will be responsible for the mechanical design of the "Sooha," a worm-shaped robot for pipe inspection. While we have completed a prototype, we are working on further mechanical developments to enhance its functionality. Using our world-class technology, you will be involved in the entire mechanical design process as we work toward the commercialization of our robots.
In the future, we plan to drive further technological innovation and research and development. We welcome candidates who are excited to play a central role in these efforts.

- While mass production is a long-term goal, we are currently aiming to commercialize high-value-added designs in small quantities. We are looking for someone to play a central role in translating Solaris' technology into products.
- In the future, you will manage vendor relations for mass production and assembly.
- The prototype is complete, and we are progressing with PoC (Proof of Concept) at customer sites. You will be involved in improving the product based on real-world challenges and advancing its implementation.
- In addition to design and development, you will also participate in testing the prototype’s performance and providing feedback through drawings, as well as conducting various experiments and evaluations.

■Product
The earthworm-type in-pipe traveling robot "Sooha" is a product that has been robotized by utilizing the characteristics of pneumatic artificial muscles, which we have independently developed, to mimic the movement style of an earthworm.

‐Inspection of Sewer Pressure Pipes: Visualizes the condition of buried narrow pipes from the inside, realizing sustainable infrastructure through predictive maintenance.
‐Inspection of Pipes in Cosmetics Manufacturer Factories: Enters narrow pipes with multiple bends to visualize the interior of the factory pipes.
‐Inspection and Cleaning of Building and Apartment Pipes: Adapts to complex piping routes, visualizes the inside of the pipes, and transports cleaning tools to aim for cleaning from within the pipes.
